III International Vocalists’ competition named after Byulbyul was held from the 28^th November until the 10^th December 2005 in Baku. 116 competitors participated, 84 vocalists and 32 concertmasters from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Russia.

Its participants were young singers from Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.  

Chairman of the jury was People’s Artist of the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, Professor Evgeny Nesterenko (Russia). 

Deputy Chairman was People’s Artist of the USSR, Professor Farhad Badalbeyli (Azerbaijan).
